BONHAMS REVIEW OF BUYERS' PREMIUM

Bonhams has reviewed the price thresholds for buyers' premium payments and announces that from 1 November 2017, the following rates will apply:

UK

On the first £175,000: 25%
£175,001 to 3,000,000: 20%                          
£3,000,001 and above: 12.5%

US

On the first $250,000: 25%
$250,001 to $4,000,000: 20%
$4,000,001 and above: 12.5%

Hong Kong

On the first HK$2,000,000: 25%
HK$2,000,001 to HK$30,000,000: 20%
HK$30,000,001 and above: 12.5%

Europe

On the first €150,000: 25%
€150,001 to €2,000,000: 20%
€2,000,001 and above: 12.5%

Additionally, the premiums applied to Wine sales will become 19.5% in the UK and 22.5% in the USA and Hong Kong.

These changes do not apply to sales of Motor Cars and Coins & Medals which already have different premium levels.

Matthew Girling, Global CEO of Bonhams, said, "This change reflects the current market and is an important part of maintaining our global competitiveness."
