TOP PRICES FOR BURGUNDY AT BONHAMS NOVEMBER FINE WINE SALE

Wines from Burgundy were in high demand at Bonhams Fine & Rare Wine Sale in London yesterday (23 November). A case of Henri & Georges Jayer 1999 Echézeaux made £41,835(£20,000-25,000) and six magnums of Jean Grivot 2005 Richebourg were sold for £13,145 (£11,000-13,000).

Other highlights included:

• A case of 1989 Château Haut-Brion made £15,535 (£11,000-14,000).
• A vertical selection of Château Latour 1951-2001 sold for £14,340 (£11,000-13,000).
• A case of 1985 Pétrus was bought for £14,340 (£12,000-15,000).
• A magnum of 2005 Scharzhofberger Trockenbeerenauslese, Egon Müller, sold for £10,755 (£9,000-10,000).
• A rare bottle of 1857 Château d'Yquem made £8,365 (£7,000-9,000).
• A case of 1979 Krug was bought for £8,365 (£6,000-8,000).

The sale achieved a total of £937,956.
